Take telecourses to the next level!
Tips and Techniques for adding components to your Telewebcourse....
Assignments
- Use publisher content or internet-based searches on key topics
- Create assignments involving small interactive groups
- Consider alternative assessment methods; multimedia projects, portfolios,
or journals.
Discussion Groups
Use the Short Answer Questions and Expanded
Analysis Sections from the Faculty Manual to invoke class discussion
online.
- In the course management system you are using, create groups
in the Discussion or Bulletin Board area for each episode
- assigning one question or topic to each group.
- Each student must visit this area to discuss or debate the issues,
then collaborate to prepare a joint response, or individual response
to be shared. (assign points)
- Most course management systems can track time spent in the discussion
group, which can be graded as 'classroom participation'.
Self-Test Questions
In a course management system:
- Consult the instructions for your institutions system.
- Format and import the questions.Try Respondus
Lite for formatting.
- Insert the answers and appropriate feedback.

- Contact the server administrator to supply a cgi script for
emailed results.
- Provide the student's answers on a Self-Test Result page.
- Use Respondus Lite -
format quizzes to upload to WebCT and Blackboard.
